Amidst Growing Grassroots Energy, Swing Left Launches “3 to Win,” Its Largest-Ever Midterm Campaign Mobilizing 1 Million Members to Flip the House in 2026
With an initial slate of 25 districts, Swing Left will harness grassroots organizing and fundraising power to gain the three seats needed to retake the House
APRIL 3, 2025 (WASHINGTON, DC)—Today, Swing Left, which led the grassroots movement to help Democrats flip the House in 2018 and is one of the largest drivers of grassroots action to competitive elections, is launching its largest-ever midterm campaign. Called "3 to Win", the campaign is a data-driven, action-oriented initiative to mobilize grassroots volunteers and donors to flip the three House seats needed for Democrats to retake the chamber in 2026 and end Trump and the GOP’s unchecked power. The campaign aims to raise $25 million directly for House campaigns, and to mobilize its 1 million members, 450 volunteer-led groups, and new volunteers to reach out to more than 7.5 million voters by phone, door-to-door, and in handwritten letters.
“MAGA Republicans can repeat the lie that they have a mandate for their extremist agenda until they’re blue in the face. But math doesn’t lie, and the math is that Democrats lost the House in 2024 by only 7,309 votes – almost a rounding error. MAGA’s trifecta is fragile and their actions are unpopular. Democrats can win the House, but we can’t afford to waste a penny or a minute on long shots,” said Swing Left Executive Director Yasmin Radjy. “That’s why we are both doubling down on the long-term, people-powered organizing tactics proven to work and introducing improvements and innovations to our voter contact and fundraising activities.”
“We hear over and over that folks are angry as hell and ready to fight, but many feel they lack agency and are unsure what actually moves the needle. They aren’t looking to just click a button. They want a roadmap to be agents of change and maximize their impact. That’s exactly what Swing Left is built to provide,” Radjy added. “The truth is, winning back the House in 2026 is our best chance to reclaim power that can put a meaningful check on Trump and Musk’s power. We can only win if we work together—and if we start now.”
Swing Left’s campaign builds on its proven model of maximizing grassroots impact by strategically directing early and sustained organizing and fundraising to the races where these efforts can make the biggest difference. It aims to combat widespread digital fatigue by getting people offline and together in person to form face-to-face connections that help us build the power we need to win. This includes organizing a nationwide wave of 100 volunteer events by Trump’s 100th Day (April 30th), with a particular focus on building infrastructure in districts we aim to flip.
Swing Left is also launching early “nominee funds” to donate directly to the eventual Democratic nominees in each target swing district. Swing Left was the first organization to successfully bring nominee funds to scale in 2017, a critical tool to raise early money to Democratic nominees when they most need it.
The “3 to Win” campaign will initially target the 25 most critical swing House districts – 15 flips and 10 holds – identified through data analysis and local organizing potential and infrastructure. This includes:
Pivotal battleground seats near major grassroots hubs like California (including CA-13, decided by just 187 votes in 2024, and CA-45, decided by fewer than 700 votes), New York (NY-04, NY-17, NY-19), New Jersey (NJ-09), Pennsylvania (PA-07, PA-08, PA-10), and Arizona (AZ-01, AZ-06);
New districts where Swing Left will expand its footprint, like Iowa-01 and Iowa-03;
Districts where Swing Left will deepen and fortify its grassroots infrastructure, such as Nebraska-02 and those with significant federal-worker populations such as Virginia-02 and Virginia-07.
"Republicans are trying to make us feel powerless—but we’re not. If we organize together, we can create meaningful change,” added Radjy. “The time to act isn't tomorrow—it's right now. Winning a Democratic House majority will give us power to set the legislative agenda, control committees, shape laws, and hold Trump accountable."
The campaign launches amid surging grassroots activism. Swing Left has already seen unprecedented grassroots growth and engagement this year, with new volunteers joining local groups at the highest rate ever—surpassed only by the final get-out-the-vote days in presidential election years. Volunteers have already begun organizing in a number of swing districts across the country, engaging voters and mobilizing support for Democrats, 19 months out from the midterms.
Swing Left members also far-exceeded their 2023 fundraising and voter contact numbers in this week's pivotal Wisconsin Supreme Court election, raising $238,801 for Judge Crawford and the Wisconsin Democratic Party’s get-out-the-vote efforts, making 396,000+ calls, knocking on 13,300+ doors, and writing 250,000+ letters to Wisconsin voters, as part of a coalition led by Swing Left’s nonpartisan affiliate Vote Forward.. The election, the first actionable test of anti-Trump sentiment, was won by Judge Susan Crawford, ensuring that Wisconsin's top court retains a 4-3 liberal majority.

About Swing Left
Since launching in 2017, Swing Left has proven the effectiveness of early, sustained, and smart grassroots organizing. Our 1 million members have raised more than $140 million for Democratic candidates, organizations, and voter mobilization efforts, and reached out to more than 50 million voters through phone calls, door knocks, and Vote Forward letters.
In 2024 alone, Swing Left’s volunteers knocked on 1.6 million doors, made 3.8 million calls, wrote more than 11 million letters, and raised more than $25 million—critical actions that helped Democrats in swing districts buck national trends and secure razor-thin victories. Our highly strategic, data-driven approach resulted in Democrats significantly outperforming national trends in our target areas.
